We recently went to Logan’s Roadhouse.  I walked in, and immediately went to the bar to purchase the gift card.  For every $25 I purchased, I received $5 “Logan’s Bucks”, which I didn’t think I would be able to use until my next visit….  Anyway, I knew it would cost my family at least $40 to eat, so I paid for the meal with the gift card.  The waitress asked if I received “Logan’s Bucks” with the gift card.  I told her yes, and she said I could use them!  (Not sure if that was right, since the Bucks say on next visit, but OK – if you insist!)  We paid for the meal with the gift card and Logan’s Bucks, and still have money left for the next visit!

Lots of Elf On The Shelf Ideas!

Many of us have been “adopted” by an elf at Christmas.  Whether your Elf’s name is Fred, Mr. Giggles or Fly Guy (yes, our Elf is named Fly Guy), it’s always a challenge to find new and exciting hiding places for 25+ days.

Now some of you are going HUH?  And want to know what exactly is this Elf we speak of?  Basically, The Elf on the Shelf is a magical Elf who is sent by Santa to watch the children in your home.  The elf becomes Santa’s “reporter” by watching your children through the day, and traveling to The North Pole every night to tell Santa who has been bad and who has been good.  Because he leaves your house when the children are asleep, he hides sits in a different place each morning, through Christmas.  You can read more about Elf on the Shelf here.

- Take picture of child sleeping

- Type /write an amazing letter of all the wonderful qualities your Elf has witnessed of your child!!!!!!!!

- Fold clothes, empty dishwasher, vacuum

- Play dress up – wearing mini homemade reindeer ears, etc.

- Write a message in the snow (better for little ones who won’t notice the obvious footprints)

And even if you can’t get the real Elf On The Shelf bundle, you can always pick one an elf at the dollar store and make up your own story!  (or ask a friend to borrow his/her book for the day!)

Christmas Layaway Program at Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart will offer a Christmas layaway program for electronics, jewelry and toys. The program is available at all stores nationwide, running from October 17 through December 16.

Each item put on layaway must be $15 or more, and the total of your items must be at least $50.
Customer must put 10% down, and there is a $5 service fee.

Layaway payments can be made at any register. Putting an item on layaway and picking up layaway orders is done near the back of the store, in the walmart.com department.

(Items can not be put on layaway the day after Thanksgiving, nor can they be picked up that day.)

*There is a $10 Cancellation fee or penalty if not picked up by December 16.

Walmart Price Match Policy!

Wal-Mart has announced a holiday price guarantee program.

If you shop at Wal-Mart, be sure to keep your receipts!

The price guarantee program is good on purchases made November 1st through December 25th that are available at a competitor’s store within the same local market. Under the Christmas Price Match program, Walmart will offer shoppers a refund on the difference if they find the same product they purchased at a Wal-Mart store advertised for a lower price elsewhere.

If you find a lower price, you can receive a gift card for the difference.  Customers just need to bring in their original receipt and the local competitor’s printed ad before December 25th . Items placed on Walmart layaway are also eligible for the Christmas price guarantee.

*The offer excludes Black Friday ads and Internet pricing, among other restrictions.

Indoor Snowballs!

One of the activities on my 12 Days list is a Snowball fight!

I made them by filling white knee-high stockings with cotton balls!  I sewed up the ends with just a few stitches, and wa-la!  Now, we have snowballs that 1:  won’t melt  2:  won’t hurt a fly  3:  will provide lots and lots of entertainment!
